1. Definition of yarn
Yarn is composed of numerous fibers by carding, blending, drafting and twisting, also known as single yarn.
2. Definition of line
Yarn is composed of two or more single yarns, which are combined and twisted. It is also called strand yarn.
2、 Classification of commonly used yarns
1. Pure cotton yarn
Yarn made entirely of cotton fibers. According to the different production process of cotton mills, pure cotton yarn can be divided into combed yarn and combed yarn. The quality of combed yarn is better than that of combed yarn. Knitted underwear is generally based on pure cotton yarn.
2. Chemical fiber yarn
Yarn made entirely of chemical fibers. Pure yarn and spun yarn. Common polyester yarn, viscose yarn, spandex yarn, nylon yarn, acrylic yarn, etc. Chemical fiber yarn is commonly used as raw material for knitted garments and other decorative fabrics.
① Filament yarn
Filament yarn belongs to chemical fiber yarn. Polyester filament is widely used, which can be divided into bright polyester filament and Matt polyester filament.
② Elastic yarn
The widely used spandex elastic yarn can be divided into bright and white. It is suitable for knitting three kinds of elastic cloth. The price of spandex is expensive, and the proportion of spandex is very small when weaving elastic cloth. For example, the proportion of full lining elastic cloth is generally 4.5% - 7%, and that of half lining elastic cloth is generally 2.5% - 3.5%.
3. Blended yarn
A yarn made by mixing two or more different fibers. Common are polyester cotton blended yarn, polyester viscose blended yarn, cotton viscose blended yarn, etc. Blended yarn is widely used in knitted products, such as knitted underwear, knitted outerwear, etc.
4. Core spun yarn
One kind of fiber is used as the yarn core, and another kind of fiber is wrapped or wrapped around the yarn core.
5. Flax grey yarn
It is made of colored fiber and natural fiber. For example, part of cotton is dyed black, and then blended with part of white cotton to form pure cotton flax grey yarn; part of black polyester fiber is blended with white cotton to form polyester cotton hemp grey yarn. The grey fabric made of flax grey yarn does not need dyeing.
6. Colored yarn
There are two kinds of colored yarn. One is to dye the natural colored yarn into colored yarn. There are two kinds of dyeing methods: cylinder yarn dyeing and skein yarn dyeing. The grey cloth woven with colored yarn does not need to be dyed. The other is the cotton yarn spun from natural colored cotton. Because the climate environment of natural colored cotton is different from that of ordinary cotton, the yield of natural colored cotton is low, and its color is monotonous, only light green and green Light coffee, etc. The colored yarn made of natural colored cotton does not need dyeing and is expensive.
7. Ply thread: double ply thread is widely used in garment raw materials. 3-ply and above ply thread is generally used for sewing thread and other purposes.
